A Simple Practice ／ かんたんな使い方
You don't need a temple or a teacher. A few minutes and one object are enough. お寺も先生もいりません。数分と、ひとつの道具があれば十分です。
Light a single stick of incense. Watch the first thread of smoke rise and let your shoulders drop. The day is behind you. 線香を一本灯します。立ちのぼる煙を眺め、肩の力を抜いて。 一日はもう終わりです。
Strike the bowl once. Follow the tone all the way until it fades into silence. Breathe slowly while it lingers. りんをひと打ち。消えていくまで音を追いかけ、 余韻のあいだ、ゆっくり呼吸します。
Sit for three quiet breaths with your figure or focal object in view. Nothing to do, nowhere to be. Just here. 像や置物を眺めながら、静かに三呼吸。 何もしなくていい、どこへも行かなくていい。ただ、ここに。
